Obituary of Mary Ebey
Mary Ebey Hutchinson, or Polly, as she was called in familyhistory, died at her home l ast Friday, near Dublin, Ohio, Sept 1886,aged 90 years, 5 months and 24 days. She was bor n in Huntington County,Penn., March 30, 1796. At the age of 9 she came with her parents t oFrankilton, Franklin county, Ohio. In a few years the family moved tothe vicinity of Dubl in, this county, where Mrs. Hutchinson continued tolived the rest of her days. On April 2 , 1818, Mary Ebey was married toAmaziah Hutchinson. After the death of Mr. Hutchinson in 1 847,
Mrs. Hutchinson was left to manage the farm and bring up the largefamily, both of which sh e did with credit to herself. At the age of 19Mrs. Hutchinson united with the Methodist Epi scopal Church. From thattime to the day of her death she remained a faithful and consisten tmember of her chosen church, earnestly serving her Master for the longperiod of more tha n 71 years.
Mrs. Hutchinson was the mother of 9 children, 7 of whom still survive;grandmother of 46, 3 4 of whom are living; great-grandmother of 46, 38 ofwhom are now living. Her funeral occur red at Dublin last Sabbath, andwas largely attended. Rev. Mr. Armstrong of Worthington cond ucted theservices. The remains were laid at rest in Odd Fellow's cemetery,Dublin.
