Gall Reunion Potluck and Auction:
During the potluck and auction at our 2004 reunion, it was decided it would be better to plan to have our potluck dinner and Gall Reunion Auction on Saturday instead of having it on Sunday as we have done in the past. This allows everyone to enjoy it more and be included, even if they need to leave early on Sunday to travel back home. Everyone should plan to bring a dish to pass and something to contribute to the family auction.
We are all looking forward to seeing everyone there this year! Let’s see if we can have a super big turnout! If you haven’t made your reservations yet, please take care of it soon!
If you’re unable to attend the reunion this year, think about making a reservation at the KOA campground for next year to secure your sleeping arrangements.
Our 2004 reunion was a very nice success, though we would have
liked to see more family members there.
Those who were able to attend are as follows:

A True Family Reunion
During WWII, George Mollenhour left behind his wartime love, Daisy Walker,
and unknowingly left behind an unborn daughter named Susan. In the years since
WWII, George found out he had a daughter, but by that time, he was married and
never knew where his daughter was. Now, 56 years later, George and his daughter,
Susan, have reunited via telephone and in June 2005 they finally met in person
when Susan made a visit to George and Nancy Mollenhour’s home! After a
wonderful visit in Elkhart, Susan left Elkhart to return to England on July
2, 2005. They have vowed to return and George and Nancy plan to visit them in
England, as well. All of this would not have been possible if it weren’t
for George’s wife, Nancy’s determination and dedicated work to bring
them together after so many years.
Update on Jimmy McMillan
Jimmy McMillan is now living in Hendersonville TN and sings full time with The Toney Brothers. If you would like his updated address and phone number, please contact Carol Gall
Update on Odell Gall
After talking this morning (4/4/2005) with Odell, he has told us that he "got out of his wheel chair last December and hasn't looked back since". He says that he is able to get around and do most of the things he needs to do, but will still need further surgery at a later time. He says he is trying to save money to get further education and hopes to do computer related work, as well as web pages and graphics. Way to go Odell!

Haiti Project
As many of you may remember, Shirley McMillan and Phil & Verna Smith have been very involved in the project to help the people of Haiti, who so are in such desperate need of so many things that we take for granted in our daily lives. This Haiti Project is called “International Christian Development Mission” (ICDM) They made a trip there last year and have continued to have garage sales, take in donations of clothing, personal hygiene items, school items, and anything else that the people of Haiti have need for. A very successful giant Haiti Garage Sale was held at Phil & Verna’s place on June 2, 3 & 4 and netted $3,611.31. The proceeds from the garage sale will buy one new treadle sewing machine in Haiti for the women at the House of Hope, and it will pay to ship the 24 ft. box truck that has been donated (it will be filled with the wonderful donations of filled school back packs, clothes, shoes, powdered milk, medical equipment, building materials, cement mixer, wheel barrow, hand tools, and lots more.) To read more about ICDM visit: http://home.earthlink.net/~yvanp/about.html
Carol Huff has also been helping the people of Haiti with her “Threads
of Hope” project, which works on collecting and gathering sewing material,
sewing equipment and other sewing needs so the people of Haiti are better able
to sew items themselves.
Helping the people of Haiti is an ongoing need and future donations are always most welcome! Keep in mind that Haiti is tropical, so clothing and other items should be appropriate to that climate.
Let’s keep the ball rolling and do our part to
help those less fortunate than us!
